I am a creative and visual learner who is devoted to understanding a concept holistically and comprehensively. This is a passion I will bring to every student I encounter and will become the basis of my lessons. Yet, as a tutor, my lessons are geared towards you; your skills and difficulties, your learning style and your preference. Our lessons will involve detailed discussions and explanation, tailored towards assessment tasks, exams or the content in general. Additionally, as a recent HSC graduate, I understand the value of practice; thus, each lesson will include practice questions, papers, essay planning, marking and editing. Ultimately, as a tutor, I intend to provide my students with a comprehensive understanding of their subjects that can be applied in a consistent and creative manner to a range of stimuli.
As an Extension 2 English tutor, I intend to provide consistent mentorship and advice towards the creation of a final Major Work. Inclusive of the content and form of the Major Work itself while also considerate of the timetable, schedule and timing of the project. These lessons would include comprehensive discussions, research, editing and revisions, assistance in developing a timeline for the Major Work and assessment-specific advice. As a state ranker in Extension 2 English; I can provide an exemplary Major Work, personal advice and mentorship driven by what I believe makes a state ranking Major Work.
I graduated high school in 2019 with an ATAR of 99.05, making me the DUX of my school! I am highly interested in the Arts and Humanities, the subjects I undertook being Advanced English, Extension 1 English, Extension 2 English, Ancient History, Society & Culture and Visual Arts. I received a Band 6 in 5 of my 6 courses, including a state ranking of 4th in NSW for Extension 2 English.
My love for learning and passion for my subjects led me to immerse myself within the HSC; I consider myself to be extremely well versed in course rubrics and structures, essay planning, preparation and writing, exam skills and syllabus dot points and I wish to share this with my students! I have a comprehensive knowledge of the HSC and am well equipped with the skills and resources to guide you through this incredible, yet sometimes gruelling, journey!
I have experience as a Peer Mentor during 2019, which involved discussing assessment tasks and school work, devising strategies to complete certain tasks and other academic advice, including timetabling and organisation. This experience, along with countless instances of assisting friends during the HSC, either through reviewing and providing feedback on written drafts, sharing my own work, engaging in educational discussions and assisting in explaining tricky concepts has enabled me to develop communicative skills that provide feedback in a genuine and thoughtful manner. I consider myself to be patient and attentive when providing academic advice.
I am currently studying a Bachelor of Arts in Western Civilisation and a Bachelor of International Studies at the University of Wollongong.
