Academic Learning Advisor with a Master's in Education (Reading and Literacy)

Methodology

I am passionate advocate of Education and believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to access and be provided with opportunities to succeed.
While working with an international university, I worked closely with the Nursing, Business, Hospitality, Engineering, Accountancy and Design departments where my role has been to support and collaborate with staff, provide professional advice, mentor or provide professional development.
As the lead academic learning advisor, my role has been to mentor and support students who struggled with their studies either individually or in small groups and conduct workshops with the entire class.
I have also worked in TAFE, my role was to design deliver, assess and evaluate tailored educational programs for further education and training, to students who attended higher education.
Overall, I have worked in Higher Education for 20 years and have worked as a lead academic learning advisor for five years. I have a Master’s in Education (Reading and Literacy), Special Educational needs qualifications (BA Disability Studies) a Post Graduate Degree in Education (Primary and Secondary) as well as CELTA qualifications and a Certificate IV Training and Assessment.

• Provide students with appropriate, timely and relevant academic learning support in specific study areas, initiate disciplinary and academic progression processes as a result of plagiarism,

These applications inspired individual nursing educators to submit applications themselves, on behalf of their students in the following years.
