I work with Leicester College in a classroom environment with people resitting GCSE Mathematics, helping groups out as well as teachers with the work being provided and support on an appropriate scale.

I also spent time in a classroom with 8 – 9 year olds in 2015, where I took up the role similar to that of a Teaching Assistant. During my time, I supported a range of children of mixed abilities in lessons from English and Maths to R.E. and French, as well as taking smaller groups for Maths lessons and extension works. This enabled me to further develop skills such as my confidence, and abilities to improvise. I received excellent feedback from both teachers and students. I returned a year later after completing GCSEs to undertake a similar voluntary role.
