Before I commence teaching, I believe it’s very important to gage the levels of all my students and see where gaps lie in their knowledge. Then I approach the lessons by first working on these gaps, teaching them the basics at their pace, and ensuring they fully understand before moving on to more challenging content. I would approach the lessons in an organised manner, with a set plan for the lesson and a goal to reach by the end of it. However, I would prioritise the students’ questions and stitching up existing gaps if present first. I am patient, organised, kind, reliable, committed and passionate about anything I dedicate my time to.
I am a student with experience in private and group tutoring for English, maths, science and singing. I’ve worked as a teacher in Kumon, volunteered as a maths, english and science tutor for disadvantaged African children - where classes were private or in groups, and volunteered as a singing teacher at two ELCs under the Maestros program.
