I am a firm believer in the AMEB method and using the grading system as an incremental stepping stone in skill. Thus, I use both the performance pieces as well as the technical work to build the technique of the performer. Although long term I use the AMEB work. Having had plenty of performance experience, I am able to also be a short - term teacher for "polish". Essentially a term I use for the period before an exam or performance where there are specific skills that need to be "polished". These can include sight-reading, expression, bowings and fingers, and stylistic techniques.
Hi! My names Theo and I am an undergraduate student at the ANU. I was music scholar at Geelong Grammar School where my primary instrument was the violin. I have extensive performance experience both as a soloist and as an ensemble musician. As my experience is both from school and professionally, and having been a student of music myself I hope to be given the opportunity to share the tricks I have learned on the violin with future violin players in Canberra.
I do cancellation policy of 15 dollars if I am not notified about lesson cancellation 36 hours in advance. There is also a travel cost, however, it is subject to length of the lesson, distance, and amount of lessons confirmed.
