About Jim
Working artist based in London, operating between galleries, and institutions, I support artists' aspirations and fabrications and am deeply conscious of the difficult landscape artists encounter, within education as well as setting up or perceiving a career in art.
I am a master's Graduate from the Royal College of Art, as well as holding a BA (Hons) Degree from UAL in Fine Art, Distinction, and a Distinction in Foundation Diploma in Fine Art. I understand how art is often undermined within school curriculums as well as the prevalence of learning difficulties such as Dyslexia within creative individuals.
I am also an experienced artist assistant, having worked for renowned global artists such as Damien Hirst for over six years, assisting with fabrication, studio operations and working on highly ambitious exhibitions.
If you would like any support with art-related courses, be that portfolios, the basics of art, artist statements, interview preparation, material techniques, tutorials, or mentoring, please get in touch.

We can also look at how studio practices operate and develop, the life of an artist and the ins and outs of the art world, how to develop as well as technical demonstrations
At the end of each session, I will provide you with a written summary of our session, recommendations, references and suggestions.
In advance of our sessions, I am happy to review portfolios / your work so that I can prepare for the session adequately.
