I base my classes on the experience, goals and topics kids and students like to learn, though I usually base my classes on themes as this makes it more exciting to learn Dutch. In groups I can easily adjust the level to each kid so that they can get the most out of it. I also find it really important to teach what the kids or student would like to learn. E.g. If they want to travel to the Netherlands, you get to learn sentences that are handy to use whilst on holidays or on business. If kids like sports and colors, they'll get to learn that. My philosophy is to build rapport with my students and engage with them so that I can complement their growth and strengths whilst teaching Dutch.
