About Laurie

My interest in chemistry began with curiosity about how elements interact and form different compounds. This curiosity led me to pursue a Master’s in Inorganic Chemistry, where I developed strong knowledge of chemical structures and reactions. Over the past 10 years, I have taught students from various academic backgrounds, helping them overcome difficulties and build confidence in chemistry. Teaching has become a meaningful and fulfilling part of my professional journey.

My teaching style is simple, structured, and supportive. I break down complex topics into smaller, easy-to-understand steps so students can learn without confusion. I use diagrams, real-life examples, and clear explanations to make learning more effective. I also encourage students to ask questions, practice regularly, and revise consistently so they can improve steadily and gain confidence over time.

Beyond teaching, I continue learning about new developments in chemistry and improving my teaching methods to provide better learning experiences. This helps me keep my lessons updated and relevant. I believe chemistry is best understood through clear concepts and logical thinking rather than memorization. My goal is to help students become confident learners who can understand reactions deeply, solve problems independently, and succeed in their academic journey with strong knowledge, clarity, and long-term confidence in their abilities.

My chemistry lessons are designed to make learning clear, engaging, and easy to understand for every student. I begin with fundamental topics such as atomic structure, periodic table, and chemical bonding, explaining each concept in very simple and clear English. I focus on helping students understand the logic behind chemical reactions instead of memorizing formulas. I use real-life examples such as environmental changes, industrial processes, and everyday chemical reactions so students can connect theory with practical situations. I also create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning step by step.

As students progress, I introduce advanced topics such as coordination compounds, reaction mechanisms, thermodynamics, and equilibrium. I guide students step by step so they can clearly understand how different concepts are connected. Practice problems and application-based questions are included in every lesson to improve accuracy and confidence. I also help students identify mistakes and correct them through detailed explanation and guided learning. Each lesson is structured to ensure strong conceptual clarity and steady academic improvement.

Chemistry becomes more interesting and manageable when students understand how reactions work and how concepts are linked together. I focus on helping learners develop analytical thinking so they can approach problems logically and confidently. Over time, students become more independent in solving complex questions and start enjoying the subject. My goal is to help students build strong chemistry foundations, improve their problem-solving skills, and perform well in exams while developing a deeper understanding of the subject and long-term confidence in their abilities.
