I aim to teach students the skills and concepts necessary to look at a text or other source and regardless of the content be able to effectively analyse, gather information and then structure into an argument. I believe that focussing on the skills, as well as helping students with specific content issues, forms a solid backbone so that students become versatile thinkers.
I am a year 11 student at a Sydney selective school, with a special interest in helping younger students with the humanities, specifically English, History, Religion, Art etc. I received an 'A' in all of those subjects last year, consistently coming above the year average. This year I am taking Extension 1 English, Advanced English, Visual Art, Modern History, 2 unit Studies of Religion, Physics and Advanced Maths. I am also taking an external course in critical thinking through Macquarie University.
I am a Cadet Sergeant with my school's cadet unit, meaning I am responsible for the education, discipline and safety of a group of young boys. Last year I was a Cadet Corporal and had a similar role.
