PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE (EMPLOYMENT HISTORY)
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Employer: Comet Bay College
Period of Employment: 2007 – 2017
Position: HASS teacher
Key responsibilities: HASS – lower school Years 8 – 10 (including GAT and extension classes)
Year 11 ATAR Geography (one year)
Year 11 and 12 ATAR Politics and Law (Two years)
Year 11 General Psychology (five years)
Year 11 and 12 ATAR Psychology (Five years)

During my employment at Comet Bay College I have started the HASS department with collaboration of a colleague. I wrote programs and assessments for initially Year 8, then as the school grew Years 9 and 10. Once the school had expanded to upper school, I initially wrote and coordinated the ATAR Politics and Law Year 11 and 12 programs. Then taught Year 11 ATAR Geography. Once Psychology was introduced I wrote and coordinated ATAR and general Year 11 and 12 Psychology programs and assessments for five years. Whilst thoroughly enjoying teaching all aspects of HASS, Psychology is my passion.

Employer: Rossmoyne Senior High School
Period of Employment: 2004-2006
Position: HASS teacher for lower school
Year 8 – 10 (including GAT and extension)

During my employment at Rossmoyne Senior High School I delivered the lower school programs in HASS and moderated with my colleagues to improve student outcomes. My students participated in the National History Challenge, Stock Market Game. I organized excursions to the Francis Burt Centre and Fremantle Law Courts.

Employer: Leonora District High School
Period of Employment: 2001 – 2003
Position: HASS teacher
Art teacher
Kindergarten teacher

Key responsibilities: To coordinate and teach HASS for Year 8,9 and 10 students
To run the Kindergarten
Teach art to the whole school – pre-primary to year 10

During my employment at Leonora District High School I wrote and implemented HASS programs and assessments for years 8,9 and 10. I also wrote and implemented programs for Art and the Kindergarten. The necessity to be creative with hands on programs and the fact that I was the department encouraged my initiative and imagination. For example, when teaching History I was able to do an archaeological “dig” with my students. This was not only a lot of fun for them but also for myself.
