I truly believe that learning is about appealing to a student's reality. I know schools seem to enjoy labelling their students as 'visual learners' or 'auditory learners', which is most definitely a fantastic starting point to helping a student understand the content in front of them. However, I think all students are their own learners. Everyone has different experiences that shape the way they think, and thus, the way they learn. I truly believe all students are capable of deeply understanding every bit of content thrown their way, it's all about understanding how the student learns rather than the student trying to learn how the teacher teaches!
I am currently a Year 11 student studying English Advanced, Literature, Philosophy, History, Business and Maths General. I have previously tutored Year 6 students as part of a school program, and found it to be super enjoyable! Apart from that tutoring experience, I have never given any formal private lessens. However, I am super passionate about education and it is my life long dream to become a teacher.
-Successfully accepted in 'English Exceleration' course meaning I have fast forwarded a year in my English studies and will begin a university subject while I am in Year 12
-Previously acting as a Year 6 math tutor through a school program
-Currently in the process of acquiring a Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) at Kelvin Grove State College
-Will be moving on to study teaching specifically in English, Literature, Philosophy and Modern History
I have known Emma for about a year and a half, and in that time, she has proved herself to be one of the most genuine and wonderful people I have ever met. Emma is kind, she is patient, she has extraordinary people skills and not only is she extremely intelligent but she is also a passionate learner. If you are considering Emma as a tutor, I can ensure you that your child will be better off for knowing her—just as I am.
Emma is my classmate in an English Extension class.
She has a great work ethic and always has a sunny disposition; she is also consistently helping others. In short, I think Emma would make a fantastic English tutor.
