My teaching methodology is flexible according to the subject, the student and their requirements. With exam preparation classes, I stick to a course plan in order to cover all relevant topics and ensure that my student is adequately prepared. If my student wants to learn general English, I will tailor the lessons more to their preference, keeping them strictly structured in the traditional sense for grammar and the more basic, formal aspects of the language and allowing more of a conversational style for vocabulary and pronunciation lessons. Naturally, I tend to use more tightly structured lessons for lower ability students in order to ensure that they can take away as much information as possible with their limited skill sets. With higher level students, I allow more for lessons based around their interests, in which they improve their knowledge more through their input and open discussion.
I am an English teacher with a year's experience teaching the language in Spain to Spanish students. I have taught in business environments, in academies and in people's private places of residence. I graduated from the University of York with a degree in English Literature and I have experience teaching the subject for International Baccalaureate students as well as private tuition for GCSE students. With a professional background in proofreading, I'm an effective and attentive critic of writing, and my education gives me an expertise and insight into the way that the English Language operates.
