Perfect! Chintan explains complex concepts thoroughly and is passionate about the subjects he tutors in. He has a wealth of knowledge and has really helped me improve and succeed in Physics.

Chintan's response

I have been helping Maheli since past few weeks. I think we have covered several topics on advance physics and will start working on advanced maths as well. The topics and the tasks are interesting and intrigues me to know more about the topics.

D
Durga Prasad

Perfect! Chintan explained statistics concepts very well. it helped me to understand the critical concepts of Applied Analytics very well. It was very clear when he provided more examples. Chintan taught the practical examples which were really helpful to understand the concept in depth. Thanks, Chintan

Chintan's response

Durga is already great at his work. I rarely find students who are so keen to go into such depth of knowledge. He is on the right track of his work and will surely be doing great in his work ahead.

G
Geoffrey

Perfect! Really helped me further my understanding on topics I was struggling with, went above and beyond to do so highly recommend!

Chintan's response

Geoffrey came up with interesting and complex Engineering mathematics problem. Geoffrey has been patient and puts efforts in the learning process. It was fun brainstorming over these complex topics.

E
Emoke

Perfect! Thank you Chintan for helping my son who was weeks behind the curriculum to catch up and end the term with a decent mark! I really appreciate the time Chintan had taken to make sure my son understood the lessons / concepts he missed in school. Wonderful tutor :)

Chintan's response

Augustus is really smart and sincere student. He is well prepared for the lectures and possesses the ability to quickly solve the questions.

F
Finn

Perfect! Chintan is a great maths tutor and he makes concepts very easy to understand.

Chintan's response

Finn is smart with good grasping abilities. He was struggling with some questions in maths which we went through over the last couple of weeks. We practised hard for the exam with several questions which helped him to do really well.

L
Leisel

Perfect! Chintan was so helpful. He explains stats really well and allows you to talk through the content rather than just give you the answers. He is easy going and doesn't rush you.

Chintan's response

Leisel was looking for guidance in understanding and interpreting the statistical test that she worked on for her report. Its always exciting for me to see how students from different domain apply the statistics in their field of work and I am glad that I was able to help her out with some fundamental understanding.

F
Faisal

Perfect! I contacted Chintan to provide maths tuition to my daughter who is in year 10. Chintan makes the subject appear easy with his strong understanding of Mathematics. He is dedicated and follows up to get a better understanding of how much has been grasped by the student. I strongly recommend him.

Chintan's response

Faisal is gentle and contacted me to assist her daughter with in-person tutoring sessions for her daughter. She is smart, keen and passionate about her studies which has helped us to make much progress in such a short period of time. I am looking forward to helping her throughout her year and help her achieve a splendid score.

D
Daniel

Perfect! Been through several tutors, none held a candle to Chintan. It is my belief he teaches maths and stats better than my current faculty. I expect he will at some point be recruited by a university but until then he will simply remain (in my opinion) the best tutor on superprof!

Chintan's response

Working and teaching Daniel is a whole new experience. I rarely find students who go out of their way an extra mile and try learning in the sense that not just get them grades but is in fact implementable in their work. Daniel is one such student whom I enjoy teaching the practical aspects of the "real-world " learning that I have always emphasised in my life. I am certainly sure that we are going a long way with various subjects.

J
Joshua

Perfect! Dedicated professional who always goes the extra mile to make himself available for tutoring. Able to simplify complex concepts and tailor his teaching to my level of understanding

Chintan's response

Joshua is a focused and hardworking school student. We usually have several sessions each week, learning maths concept and practising question. Joshua has very well adopted the distant zoom based learning that I have developed for ease of student learning and it seems we are on the right track to achieve the goal of scoring the best grades.

Because Chintan have great knowledge in this field and one of the best thing is his explanation skills is just mind blowing and with ease so one can understand very quick with great understanding. Apart this he is so humble and kind to help any time.

K
Kamal

I can honestly say, what I like in Chintan most is his delivery of speech. His explanation and way of understanding about the pupils will make anyone fall in love with studies, especially in transportation engineering and soil mechanics. He has a very polite nature and honest about the students. For me, he was always available to solve my doubts. One of the most liked teachers among all the students.

D
Dharam

You would definitely make a great teacher because you have a great grasp on every topics you taught us whether it was theoretical, numerical or analytical. You had the ability to kind of hammer data in our brain which we would remember for a long span rather than other teachers. Before joining your class, I used to mug up topics rather than trying to understand it but you kinda sucked out that trait from me by explaining every one of our queries though we asked the same thing again and again. And yeah, nothing would make you a great mentor, cause you already are one of em. Cheers!!

Interview with Chintan

QUESTION 01 | 08
When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?
Chintan — Teaching has been my passion since my childhood. I grew up helping my younger brother in guiding with his subjects. I have gained my teaching skills from my mother who is involved in private tutoring for more than 25 years. With her experience, I realised that persistent learning and updating oneself with the latest knowledge is the key to being a good tutor. As I have always thrived to seek knowledge in various subjects, I aspired to become a private tutor.
QUESTION 02 | 08
Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).
Chintan — I have been involved in private tutoring for more than 8 years. In this duration, I have taught many subjects at school and graduate level subjects. Civil Engineering being my field of study, I show a keen interest in teaching Civil Engineering subjects. Meanwhile, I completed my Masters and currently pursuing P.H.D. in the field of Transportation Engineering and so working and teaching software/subjects regarding this subject highly interest me. Apart from these, I had been tutoring school level subjects especially Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry subjects and I always enjoy teaching these subjects as they are fundamental to any engineering field. In the modern era software skills are the key to any professional job and I have mastered my skills in using various software’s especially programming in Python and MATLAB and have been recently involved in teaching these subjects. However, literature and language subjects don’t attract me much and I prefer to avoid teaching these subjects. The overwhelmingly positive feedback from my past and current students always inspires me to work harder and give my best to the subjects I teach.
QUESTION 03 | 08
Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?
Chintan — I have several role models since my childhood, most of them being my school or university teachers/Professors. I learned working smartly from my maths teacher who never failed to fascinate me with a new trick to solve the problems in a quick and efficient way. Since then, I developed a practice to think first and then act on the problem. The professor from my graduate course taught me how hard work and perseverance can take you much ahead in your life. My supervisors are/have been my role model as I learned several skills such as multitasking, time-management, soft skills and maintaining relations.
QUESTION 04 | 08
What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?
Chintan — According to me, a good tutor is one who is very well prepared for the subject that he teaches. I have developed a practice of working several hours for the subject before I teach them. This helps me to work on the various ways in which I can teach the topics. Another important aspect according to me is the ability of a teacher to teach with the practical examples and make it relate to real world problems. A student can learn a topic easily if he/she is able to visualise what he/she learns and hence it is essential to relate with the real world problems. Lastly, a healthy relationship between a student and teacher is something that makes learning fun and interesting hence I believe a good tutor should possess good communication and psychological skills so that he can relate the problem and solve it in a way that a student can understand.
QUESTION 05 | 08
Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.
Chintan — I remember a very important anecdote from my school days that changed my life in the ways that I never thought could be, I had been doing extremely well in the maths and science related subjects since my childhood. It was once in my grade 8 that I received a very low score in mathematics subjects. The problem wasn’t about me not knowing the subject but rather was being over-confident about it. Most of my questions had the correct method adopted, but I made mistakes in trivial calculations and steps. This is when I learned the importance of precision and working calmly and attentively with the questions/subjects. Since then I have been doing great with various subjects and this small incident helped me to shape my way of learning.
QUESTION 06 | 08
What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or are still facing in your subject?
Chintan — For long, I haven’t been teaching any new subjects but in the initial stages it’s always a bit challenging as I am not always completely aware of all the topics of the subject. However, with experience and technical support it's easy now to review or learn a topic that has been newly introduced or I haven’t studied. As I have teaching experience in my home country, the course structure in Australia/other countries varies depending on the university and hence it sometimes becomes challenging to clearly define the scope to which the detail of the topic should be restricted.
QUESTION 07 | 08
Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?
Chintan — I possess a keen interest in learning software and their applications. I possess detailed theoretical knowledge on most of the subjects I teach. However, each day new software are introduced based on the application and I really love learning as much as I can. Teaching is my hobby and not an element of my subject. I believe in sharing knowledge as it helps me learn a lot of new content as well. It helps me look into various aspects of the subject and I find myself learning more about it each day.
QUESTION 08 | 08
What makes you a Superprof (besides answering these interview questions 😜)?
Chintan — A Superprof isn’t a one who possess the best knowledge on the subject. I believe I may not be knowing entirely about the subject and there might be tutors that are more knowledgeable than me, but I do know how to make a subject understandable to a student in a way that works best for the student in the simplest way. This attribute I believe makes me a Superprof and I am stating this based on the recommendations and reviews from my past students to whom I have guided and are doing well in their studies.
