Hi, my name is Aya and I graduated VCE in 2018 with an ATAR or 99.55 and a raw 43 in Chemistry and 42 in Math Methods. My teaching is very much focused on getting a solid foundation of all concepts and creating links between different concepts within a course, as well as giving students clear steps and processes to get to answers. I will try and make sure that I move at a pace that students are comfortable with, and make sure to spend time going over concepts that students are struggling with. I know how stressful school can be and I want to help my students get through it as easily as possible and help them to reach their potential. I believe that the best way to learn is through practice so I put a lot of focus on using practice questions and carefully correcting them with the student so they can learn from their mistakes. I will often start lessons by revisiting the previous sessions content, and correcting any practice questions, making sure to cover any potential areas of weakness. I will then move onto a new concept and consolidate the learning by working through questions of various difficulties together.
I’m studying to become a doctor, and in the meanwhile I think tutoring will be a great way for me to fulfil my passion for helping people. I have always loved science and maths and would love the opportunity to share my passion and experience in this subjects with a student. Throughout high school I spent a lot of time helping fellow classmates and peers who were struggling in certain areas, and I this has allowed me to find how to best teach difficult concepts to others.
