Private lessons, as opposed to a classroom setting, offer a great deal of flexibility in methodology, due to the limited amount of people. I capitalise on this, ensuring through clear, precise communication, that I aim to teach a student in the best way that they learn. Whether in a relaxed, casual environment, or a structured, professional one, I aim to assist the person more than myself.
WHAT I TEACH -
I teach foundational, beginner music theory. I believe each person learns differently, especially with something as fluid and freeflowing as music. Therefore, each lesson is tailored as best as possible to how the student learns.
So, in no particular order, or time frame, I aim to teach:
- The definition of notes, the distances between multiple notes, and how multiple notes can be played at any one time to achieve harmony
- Key scales and the Circle of Fifths, applicable to almost every instrument in the world, including your voice
- Chord scales, to eventually write chord progressions, to help understand song composition. Accompanied with a melody, unique phrasing, and some ~spicy~ notes, we could possibly create a casual project ourselves(!!)
- Any further information regarding musical theory, music production, songwriting, general music advice.
If you're motivated to learn more about your love of music, I'd love to meet you! I hope to hear from you soon.
I have completed a VCE standard of music in high school, and have given private music theory lessons for the past year. I have also provided musical choices and direction to multiple local artists. I play guitar (4 years) piano (2 years), and sing (2 years).
