About Jennifer

I am in my third year studying French and Italian at the University of York and have a passion for language learning that I would like to pass on to other learners. I have study abroad at Université Aix Marseille and Universita per Stranieri di Siena as part of my year abroad.

I achieved A*s in French and German at both A level and GCSE, so have experience with learning multiple different languages and am very familiar with the exam board for languages at GCSE and A Level. I have experience tutoring a KS3 Maths student as I also enjoyed Maths at school and liked helping students with a range of different subjects, but my passion for the French language and culture is what I am really looking to share with my students.

I am an organised and dedicated person and would take enjoyment in helping students with a subject I find so fascinating. I hope to hear from you.

About the lesson

I am a friendly and approachable tutor and would offer thorough lessons covering all aspects of the exams for GCSE and A Level, from using materials from the textbook and assessment criteria, to broadening vocabulary and listening skills through regular speaking practice, adapted to the level of the student. As the lessons progress, I will be able to highlight which areas the students need more practice in and really focus on these.

For A Level I would also delve into explanations of more complex grammar points and encourage sustained conversations in French to support oral practice. We would also cover methods used to develop longer pieces of writing in the language, with the aim of improving accuracy and fluency.

The lesson environment would be engaging and ensure that the student feels comfortable to ask any questions. My lessons would typically last an hour long.
