I demystify some of the learning of the guitar by giving students opportunity to enjoy music making for its own sake, both at the lesson and at home. Music is a common language and the learning of it should be accessible to everyone, regardless of ability. I establish a broad understanding of how music works by establishing some basic fundamentals, and then conduct lessons at the students own pace. I find students respond better if they're encouraged to explore and try things out without trying to get things 'correct' - my approach is there is no wrong way to learn, just the most appropriate way for each individual.
I have tutored private students in instrumental tuition (guitar, bass, drums, keyboards and voice) and music theory for the past 5 years and also teach at university level. I hold a Bachelor of Music (Honours Class I) from Western Sydney University and am currently studying a PhD. I am well versed in music theory, especially in application to composition and songwriting.
Lessons are $35 for half an hour or $70 for a full hour, paid in advance per school term.
