About Natalie
I am a 25 year old graduate from Durham University with a first class degree in Languages (Spanish and German) and Cultures. I have a passion for languages and you will often find me at a language café or a language games evening.
I enjoy sharing knowledge with others. I spend my year abroad teaching English in a German school. I am a kayaking coach and have spent various summers coaching and running kayaking courses at a watersports centre.

Firstly, I find out which areas the student feels they need to work on most and whether they have any specific questions they would like to work through before they lesson. I also carry out my own assessment to establish strengths and weaknesses so I can plan the lessons accordingly.
I prepare some worked through examples of these topic areas and go through these with the student and then get them to put these methods into practise. Depending on how the student manages this, more explanation may be required or after the student feels confident with a particular area we can move on and tackle another topic. It is important the students feel they can ask as may questions as they like and are not afraid to make mistakes so I will encouraging them to have a go at questions, even if they look tricky.
I have experience teaching children aged 5-17- so KS1 curriculum all the way up to A-Level and I also teach some adult classes.
I think it's important to let the students know that they are improving and that if they keep on working hard they will progress further, to ensure they are motivated to continue learning.
