Griffith University student teaching students in the Perth region history, politics, religion and more

About the lesson

I teach literally anyone, because I believe in the value of history towards people's personal lives as well as their studies. Whether they be high school students, university students or even older non-students, I am happy to sit people down and teach them history.

My teaching plans are personalised based on topic, the extent of knowledge necessary and the learning goal that you are hoping for.

The main philosophy that I base my teaching around is not only the who, what, where and whens of humanities but the 'why' of history. Why did the Italians abandon Mussolini but the Germans fought with Hitler til the fall of Berlin. Why is China's geopolitics the way they are now and what lessons can be learnt from that. Why is Salafi jihadism on the rise in the 21st Century and can we break down the reasons, origins, etc.

About Ryan

I have been a lover of the humanities ever since I was a young child. I was able to utilise that love whe I began doing personal tutoring of history and politics whilst studying at Griffith University. Thanks to that effort, I have helped over a dozen fellow students on assessment. In addition to that, my knowledge of the geopolitical, historic and religious backgrounds of the Islamic world allowed me to be one of the first Griffith University students to exchange with EGE Rabat, a political and economics focused wing of the University of Mohammed V in Rabat, Morocco.

I have also spent years as part of the Griffith and University of Queensland United Nations Student Associations. This gave me a larger insight into the happenings of politics, current affairs and both domestic and foreign policy.
