My teaching method is both lecture and discussion based. Depending on need of subject, I can deliver demonstration lessons to students.
I have done PhD in Horticultural Science. I have experience of teaching different Botany subjects related to plant production and protection.

My early career research focused on root anatomy of date palm (Phoenix dactylifera L.), which is one of the major fruit crops in Pakistan and country ranks among the seven leading producers worldwide. Research showed wide variations in morpho-anatomical characteristics of date palm. All studied cultivars displayed significant variations in the root structures, which indicate different evolutionary routes for date palm cultivars.
Recent research: In my PhD research project, I worked on diversity and nutritional properties of dates and their value chain in Pakistan. For this study, soil samples were collected from date palm groves for subsequent chemical and physical analyses to measure the effects of soil on nutritional properties of dates. A structured questionnaire with open-ended and closed questions was used for face-to-face interviews of 170 date palm growers. Almost all farmers used dates as a food item for their families and some farmers used low quality dates as a feed for their livestock. During my PhD, I have developed excellent skills in qualitative and quantitative field based research including designing questionnaire and conducting household surveys. I also developed expertise in a range of physical and chemical tests used for soil and fruit nutritional analyses. I have also gained expertise in managing and analyzing large data sets using SPSS, cluster analysis and Canonical Correspondence Analysis (CCA) software. In addition, I have also developed excellent communication and scientific writing skills.
Recently, I have also completed a research project to investigating the effects of organic and inorganic fertilizers on yield and nutritional properties of dates in Pakistan.
