I've mostly dealt with school students and with English I generally try to get a basic idea of the level of command my student has with the language. If it's not up to the mark I start with a quick crash course in grammar first irrespective of the child's school year. Afterwards we move on to the text book lessons. Although I do provide answers if required I usually try to encourage the child to form his or her own answers (Which will of course be checked and double checked by me). A basic understanding of the English language and it's grammar is essential if the child is to score well on the subject. I encourage my students to harness a reading habit.
With social studies, I find a lot of kids lack interest in the subject because they are not properly acquainted with the background of the lesson they are taught in school, especially in the case of history. I try to fix that in my classes.
I am an alumni of Delhi College of Arts and Commerce and cleared my tenth boards from Don Bosco high school.
I have been tutoring kids in my hometown for the last three years or so.
