I have an undergraduate degree in law (LL.B) from Universidad de los Andes, Colombia; a master of international law (LL.M) from the University of Cambridge, and am currently an advanced student in my Ph.D in international law and legal theory from the University of Melbourne. I have taught in the areas of international law, legal philosophy, and legal history in undergraduate and graduate programs both at home and abroad.
Lawyer (LL.B), Universidad de los Andes, Bogotá, Colombia (2009); Master in laws (LL.M), University of Cambridge, UK (2011); Doctoral Fellow in the Laureate Program of International Law, University of Melbourne, Australia.
Before coming to the University of Melbourne I was both a Senior Advisor in international law to the Attorney General of the Republic of Colombia and a member of the government's official delegation to negotiate the terms of a peace agreement with the National Liberation Army. Before that I was the Head of the Advisory Section of the Bureau for International Legal Affairs of the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Colombia. Throughout my career I have lectured both in undergraduate and postgraduate degrees of law and legal theory in public and private universities.
