Think of me like Yoda, but taller and less green. I teach music because I love music, and I want to be able to share that with people! My methods of teaching differ based upon the person, their age, and their experience with music. I want students who are eager to learn an instrument or how to read music. I'm not looking for students who are being forced into taking lessons.
My approach to guitar and music is hands on. I focus on the physical playing of the instrument first, with an introduction to Tabulature (TAB) we learn basic riffs and warm ups to get our finger dexterity up. Once we are more comfortable with our instrument I introduce chord fingerings and touch on some music theory.
My teaching method is based solely upon the students. I focus my time on helping them learn the most valuable set of skills in the most effective ways possible. I always review my teaching methods repeatedly, and ensure that the student learns the main concept by the end of their lessons.
I tend to care to the students needs based off of what the students interests are. For example, some students may need a little bit of help with timing so I may use a clapping method whilst getting them to sing. I also go through different songs based off of the students preferences.
I am able to tutor high school/HSC music students to prepare the for their exams. I am able to tutor young primary school students in all areas as I am a Primary Education Student at University. I can also teach vocal technique and performance skills.

I like to start with the basics of reading and technique before starting to tackle pieces of music. My lessons are geared towards beginners not intermediate or expert players.
My teaching methodology is based on teaching the student's favourite songs and teaching the student how to play these songs by ear. These include any songs in any genre with any type of arrangement.
I aim to make music fun before trying any kind of technique! For littlies, it's all about rocking along to nursery rhymes and simple songs, so they are learning basic principles of music without even knowing it! Parent involvement is crucial, so that they can continue what we are doing at home.

I am very enthusiastic about music.
My priorty is to create and maintain a love of music in the student's soul. When you have that desire for music, you will thrive on the instrument regardless of the level of talent. I tend to follow AMEB syllabus as I am in Australia but I can also work with other syllabus'. Some students just like to play through method books or work through various pieces of choice and progress that way.
Music is one of life's most human experiences, and everyone should be able to enjoy learning about it. After having a chat about a student's motivations, past experience and knowledge of music, I work with them to find their musical learning goals and then we start working towards achieving them.

The aim of my lessons is to provide students with the techniques required to develop excellent habits, which can always lead to excellent results if practised. For the first few weeks, students will be guided through a healthy vocal warm up to start each lesson, but ideally, in due course they will be able to warm up on their own before the lesson in order to maximise the time we have.
My teaching method is geared towards getting the best out of each individual student irrespective of their level of understanding and or experience ( from beginner to professional).
I use a combination of methods in my practice, depending on the genre I am teaching. These include elements of the Estill school- especially in music theatre and contemporary styles, with Accent Method and traditional Bel Canto techniques geared towards classical students. I always offer my students chocolates or a cup of tea to make them feel welcome and confortable to express theirselves and trust, as it is very important that there is a trust relationship between tutor and student. We start the lesson with learning the technique, and then applying the technique on their favourite songs that they always love to play or sing.
