Yoga & Meditation are highly beneficial holistic and ancient tools which still work today to support mental stability and clarity in our society. I am a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance (RYT200hr) who also manages my own Yoga & Meditation business online (thewaywardjournal.com).
My teaching methodology is about the student. I teach from what is needed for the students. I teach at a level that is safe and appropriate with room to develop the mind, body, and spirit. I am interested in teaching a full class that incorporates the breath (pranayama), the postures (asanas) and the mind.
My teaching method is a combination of theory and practical. However the nature of my lessons are more practical and hands on lessons. I take my students through a full fitness session depends on what their specific interest is. This takes for 1 hour of training so the students fully underestand how other clients feel in their body when performing the movements.
My yoga class is not just about physical exercise. I threat the spiritual side of yoga into my classes. My students love my classes because they are relaxing, empowering and energising. I love cultivating supportive community and assisting my students to overcome their obstacles in their lives by yoga and meditation. “We are all just walking each other home.”—Ram Dass.
Lysha typically sets a focus for each class (a peak pose, stretching, breathing, etc.). Depending on what the student is in the mood for, the class can focus on strength-building, stretching, pranayama (breathing), meditation and/or relaxation practices.
My teaching methodology is very much catered to the student I am teaching. In running a yoga class I also always make sure we work on relaxation, stretching and strengthening. I also give tips on how to bring yoga into daily life rather than just in class.
I approach my student with an open and friendly mind, spending the first 10-15min of the first session discussing what they would like to achieve in our classes, any health issues and any restrictions in movement. I will then design my classes based on this information to ensure that each student feels that they are making progress against their goals.
Briohney teaches a mindfulness approach to Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga from a Traditional style understanding the power of breath, healing practice of meditation and using movement to connect deeper awareness towards the body on a holistic level.
Yoga is a way of life. It's about the flow and connecting to your surroundings, the air in the room, the sound of your breath and the thought in your head.
Combining my experience and passion for Yoga, Martial Arts and Dancing, I aim to provide students with challenging, yet accessible classes with a focus on movement principals. I hope to guide students as they open to a feeling of inner peace amid the relative intensity of the Asana practice, helping them to stay calm and soft while string and stable.
I teach vinyasa flow and incorporate arm balancing in my classes. I strongly encourage students to find their own balance of effort and ease in developing their intuition to guide them in their practice. I am an ardent astanga student and arm balance enthusiast allowing me to incorporate a balance of yin and yang in my teaching.
I am offering to students of all level a creative, challenging and interactive flow, focusing on their goals, abilities, healing and alignment. I like to create a safe environment where we can learn from one another through freed of movements & speech. My purpose is to awake your mind, spirit and body awareness to the present moment in order to feel balanced.
I base my classes on the needs of the student. I am happy to tailor and/or work on specific things that the yogi is after. If you want to work on your Asana practice, I can design flows suited to your capabilities or something a little more challenging. If you want to work on your meditation practice, I can facilitate that also.
I tend to teach spontaneously depending on the student I have, although I prepare the class, that would suit the student's request (I ask what they want to focus on, flexibility/strength etc.). We are all different and have our own experience in our yoga practice. We may like something more Yin, or more Yang, so I offer different styles and rhythms.
My teaching methods revolve around created a high sense of awareness of your body and your mind through a variety of techniques. With that awareness, students are able to empower themselves and have more clarity of their strengths and weaknesses.
