I have been private tuition lessons for 1.5 years while studying myself. At the moment I'm completing a post-grad in IR law at MQ. This position involves tutoring students and helping them increase their school marks. This requires a tremendous amount of time management and interpersonal skills between students and caregivers alike, as well as the ability to give constructive criticism and suggest improvements towards both parties.
Interpersonal Skills: Required to communicate with up to 4 students at once. The ability to handle people in multiple situations is critical to success.
Time Management: The position includes tutoring 4 students at once, which makes time management a critical part of the job requirement to ensure that the students are learning efficiently and effectively.
Resource Management: Required to obtain and manage all the necessary teaching resources used on the job. Since there is a diversity of subjects and students, the ability to collect and maintain these teaching resources is absolutely paramount to doing the job adequately.
Monitoring Progress: Monitoring student progress and helping them with their weak points is an absolute requirement. Handling criticism and finding ways to help the student better themselves in their work is essential.
