I teach to encourage students to participate in relevant learning that meets their needs and learning goals. I will work with each of my students to tailor a plan and learning materials that empower them to thrive, while developing their 21st Century skills. I believe that every young person should have a ‘voice and choice’ in their learning, and should be supported to use their strengths, in order to improve their skills, knowledge, creativity and self-expression.
I use creative writing, critical and creative thinking to help students develop their literacy skills, including comprehension, expression, sentence structure, word choice and writing techniques.
I will tutor students in personal and school learning goals, to enable growth and confidence in their learning. I will also provide regular feedback to their work.
I have over 15 years experience working in the film and television as art director and designer. I have a Master of Arts in Film and Television Design, a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Theatre, Film and English and a Master of Teaching (Secondary) in Media Arts and English.
I am a professional educator who enjoy seeing students thrive and learn. By incorporating a sense of creativity into my teaching practice students will learn to be confident in their abilities, improving their academic skills.
