My focus was always on connecting the content with the student’s current base knowledge of the subject. Most learning is summative and the depth on most subjects these days makes memorization tactics obsolete. Your student will learn to apply the skill and anticipate what it will connect to in future lessons. Another key focus is creating quick reference materials for the student for unguided practice.
