My teaching method is very collaborative with the student. I make sure that we are on the same page as to what the goals are, and the consistency of work that will be required to achieve them. Setting and pursuing a specific goal is number one. Additionally, I always make an effort to identify and accommodate for the type of learner that my student is- whether they be visual learners, auditory learners, etc. I believe it is important to use the existing strengths of the student to assist in the development of their weaker learning areas.
I am a high achieving student at The University of Melbourne with a year of experience tutoring English both as a second language to international students and to year 12 VCE students. I specialise in improving the fluency and sophistication of my student's written work, as well as diversifying their vocabularies. Under my guidance, one of my students was able to write consistently better resumes and cover letters which assisted her tremendously in the search for a corporate job in her field. Another of my students was able to successfully pass her VCE English exam with confidence, after a year of struggling to complete essays.

-Writer/Researcher: AKATIGA (Bandung, Indonesia), February 2018- May 2018
AKATIGA is a non-for-profit research organization based in Bandung, Indonesia. I spent my time with AKATIGA researching for and writing a working paper (in English) that documented the change of Pres-idential Decree No. 54/2010, after an extended process of advocacy conducted by AKATIGA and their partners in the DFAT funded program ‘Knowledge Sector Initiative’. I observed the policy advocacy pro-cess, conducted interviews in Bahasa Indonesia and English, and attended conferences in Jakarta and Bandung. The Finished paper is titled “The Revision of Presidential Decree No. 54/2010: An AKATIGA and KSI Working Paper” and is published on the AKATIGA website.

Classes were large, sometimes exceeding 20 students. Teaching involved constructing my own class materials, correcting classwork and managing high-maintenance students.
