My lessons are geared towards students across all the year levels of French taught in Victorian high schools. A typical lesson will include the introduction of a grammar concept, consolidation of that knowledge through targeted activities, followed by a listening exercise and/or speaking practice.
I am happy to tailor lessons according to the Victorian Curriculum and review topics that have been recently covered with students in class. I can also help out with understanding of homework assignments or look to future topics which students may like to work ahead with.
I believe learning French should be dynamic and accessible to all students, and offer differentiation based on the specific learning strengths of each of my students. I absolutely LOVE French and the best way to ensure your students are passionate about a subject is to be passionate about it yourself, which I strive to put across in all my lessons!
Rachael is one of our best tutors. They have a high-quality profile, verified qualifications, a quick response time, and great reviews from students!
I am currently studying to become a French teacher through a Masters degree at the University of Melbourne. I have completed placement with a class of each of year 7s, 8s, and 9s. I learned French through high school right here in Australia (and then followed it up through uni and several trips to France), so I understand which concepts are the most difficult for Australian students and how to help explain these concepts to ensure every student achieves the best results possible.
- Bachelor of Science from the University of Melbourne (completed 2020)
- Diploma of French Studies from the University of Melbourne (completed 2020)
- Masters of Teaching (Secondary) at the University of Melbourne (completion date November 2022)
- Placement at Albert Park College (completed 2021) with 100% grade from mentor teacher (report available for reference on request).
Perfect! Patient, polite, understands the school syllabus well, really nice person to deal with. Very effective tutor.
Belinda’s son has a great grasp on grammar in the two past tenses we have covered so far: l’imparfait and le passé composé, and he is always keen to make sure he understands concepts fully before moving on. He is an excellent and enthusiastic student who I very much enjoy teaching!
Rachael is extremely patient and loves teaching. She is very passionate about languages and you can tell she enjoys passing her knowledge to others. Try a class with her and you wont regreat it
Rachael is a brilliant teacher who genuinely enjoys interacting with her students and sharing her love of the French language! She is reliable and punctual.
She never judges based on how talented you are, or how fast you pick things up. She is incredibly patient.
I have known Rachael for over 10 years and she has to be the most patient teacher I know. She spends a lot of time making sure every detail is understood and I would highly recommend her to anyone wanting a fantastic friendly teacher.
Rachael is an excellent tutor as she is patient, clear in her explanations and super friendly! I highly recommend choosing her if you're looking to improve your French in a fun and encouraging environment :)
