My teaching method will depend on the student's background knowledge. I am happy to teach the entire language from scratch as I have the patience and definitely the knowledge to do that. I will initially consult with the student in their first free session on how much they know, what level they're hoping to achieve and their strengths, weaknesses and most efficient way of learning. whether that is visually, auditory or sensory, I will prepare a few quizzes for the next class to get an accurate measure of what areas need the most focus. I will be sure to ask if the student is keeping up regularly as it can be very difficult to keep up with such complex new information at times and some students understandably would not want to ask too many questions. There is no such thing! I know people say there are no silly questions but let's be honest, I can come up with at least one. I want this to be a pleasing experience for my student, not a difficult or dreadful one, I'm very creative and relaxed and great at communicating and understanding diverse groups of people due to my original field of study (Bachelor of Counselling). I will definitely give my students homework but work that they will enjoy rather than struggle with and lose confidence in their abilities. My first priority is always my student.
I am a university student offering comprehensive Arabic tutoring lessons. Arabic is my native language and therefore I am fluent in all aspects. I learnt Arabic in Egypt until grade 4, the syllabus in Egypt is completely different, by grade 4 i knew not only how to read and write Arabic fluently, but also learnt "Fusha" or Old Arabic which is a very difficult language to learnt as it is a complex form of standardized arabic used from the 7th century until the middle ages and now there is a modern form of that old Arabic, which is simpler in grammar and writing. However, school systems only started enforcing Modern standardized Arabic be taught in all schools in 2008, 2 years after i had left my home country. I continued to study Arabic in high school and completed units 3&4 in VCE and tutored anyone in my class as my teacher's supplementary teacher as my level of knowledge exceeded the Australian syllabus by many years.
