Honestly I am flexible with the learning approach. I've studied Chinese at university before so am familiar with textbook study if you're currently taking a course at school/uni. I can help with setting up Anki Flashcards (powerful tool for language study). First I'd need to understand your goals and what you're currently doing :)
If you want specialized lessons on pronunciation, tones, 注音 etc. that can also be arranged! Any questions; ollieeeq at g-male dt comm :-)
Hey guys! I'm a Native English speaker who's been speaking Chinese intensely for the last 5 years. Where I thrive is using Native English to explain difficult concepts that exist in Chinese, as well as years of experience actually *learning* the language to help fast-track your goals for learning Chinese. I am extremely familiar with Anki (flashcards) and can help with that environment.
I've studied both Simplified and Traditional characters in both China and Taiwan. I also studied Chinese at the University of Melbourne for 3 years as my minor.
My level is C1. I know both Pinyin and Zhuyin (注音符號). Practically speaking, if you're an advanced learner I wouldn't recommend contacting me (unless you want help developing a long-term plan, help with Anki etc.), but if you're on the lower levels this is where I think I'd be of best use case. A common argument one would put forth is why would one contact me when there are native speakers available? Good question, but as I said most native speakers aren't necessarily the best teachers (speaking also from experience) as they've never actually studied the language. Another problem is due to not speaking native English, it's hard to effectively convey explanations of difficult Chinese concepts/grammar points.
So yeah, if you're interested feel free to message me and we can go from there :)
Perfect! Friendly, knows what he's talking about and can explain it well :)
