Born in Switzerland 23 years ago from a Swiss mother and a French father, I am a native French speaker. I have done my obligatory schoolings in Switzerland in one of the most reputed public school of the region. Ambitious and always seeking for new challenges, I have decided to improve my English by going alone to New Zealand in a homestay family and a local language school once I finished successfully Year 12. Since then, I have acquired a 7,5 at the IELTS exam which allows me to currently study in England as an Undergraduate Sports Events Management student at Leeds Beckett University.
Thanks to my mother's passion and dedication to constantly helping me with my homework, I have been involved in tutoring on an ad-hoc basis since several years in my local village helping youngsters with subjects such as English, Italian, Economy, basic Mathematics... or even more commonly helping my three younger sisters at preparing revising for assignments or exams.
Based on how my parents' philosophy on education and studies, I like working in a serious but stimulating environment that favorises interactive learning. As my father has always told me, "il y a un temps pour tout dans la vie." that means there is a time for everything in life. However, through my academic experience I have redefined this moto by trying to constantly associate crucial requirements (such as doing homework and revising for examinations) with entertainment. This is mainly that philosophy that pushed me to combine studies with good times by coming to the Gold Coast, and it is with that philosophy I have always tutored. I am always keen to work from home outside of tutoring lessons to arrive with some new materials and angles of studying for each lesson.
Initially, I began as a regular-basis babysitter in my region in Switzerland when I was aged 15. I began by babysitting neighbors and my name circulated around various families in my village and surrounding villages. Often, babysitting also involved doing homework with the children. Therefore, these families asked me, soon after, if I would be interested to help their children with their homework as I have been to the same schools and have had the same teachers. I must have started tutoring between 4 and 6 years ago on an ad-hoc basis because of my studies and my involvement in rugby on a club perspective, but always with my country. Tutoring on a regular basis and helping others with the learning of my native language would be a real experience and pleasure.
I depend on the TransLink service in the city and don't have my own car here.
Currently studying a undergraduate Sports Events Management Bachelor in England, I have done my obligatory schooling at le Collège des Rojalets (Coppet, Switzerland) and I have then pursued my academic path by studying from 15 years old to 18 years old at le Gymnase de Nyon (Nyon, Switzerland) that I successfully finished in June 2013. In addition to my babysitting experience mentioned above, I have equally been in charge of the management and organisation of sporting activities at a summer camp for children two years in a row. Because of my studies and some travels, I could not be part of that organisation anymore last summer. In spite of the differences of languages, I have also given English lessons via Skype last calendar year to one of the very first people I have babysat.
Because of recent arrival, I am not aware of any qualifications to obtain which would enable me to tutor. However, I firmly believe that I am completely capable of doing it due to my previous experience and my high enthusiasm.
