I prefer to teach on-one-one as I believe tutoring must be personalised to the requirements of the student and the subject. I demonstrate theories and allow students to ask as many questions as they want before letting them approach problems themselves, with the aim of letting them make their own mistakes and learning from them. I understand how important it is for students to learn at their own pace and way; I try and adapt my teaching methods to each student’s style of learning.
I graduated with a 98.8 ATAR (OP1) in 2014 and then completed two years of an undergraduate Bachelor of Medical Studies/Doctor of Medicine at UNSW before transferring to the University of Queensland to completely my Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours). I am currently completing my Honours thesis in mental health research and will be starting my PhD at the end of the year.
Heather is a highly intelligent and knowledgeable person with excellent communication skills. I would highly recommend her as a tutor for a number of subjects especially maths and science. I have known Heather in my capacity as a teacher. She is a gifted educator.
Heather is friendly and approachable. She takes time to break down concepts into easy to understand steps. She knows her stuff very well and is patient with others. Highly recommended!
Heather is the best! She is patient and always puts her students first.
