I prefer a very personal approach as everyone is at a different stage and everyone has a different view on photography.. Whilst there are the foundation subjects like composition, exposure, understanding your camera etc... and we will discuss them; photography is just as much about opening up to the environment you are in and learning to be still so that you can truly capture the essence of the scene, I want you to view this relationship more like having a friend in your corner who will educate, inspire and challenge you to be the best you can be. Settings tasks and exercises will get you practicing regularly thus improving your ability and understanding of photography. The first lesson is all about determining what you currently know, what you are wanting to learn and setting a clear path of learning based on your interests. The reality is, one does not need to know everything there is about photography. It makes sense then to focus on the subjects and steps you need to have in place, in order to create a workflow that will allow you to capture the images, the way you want to.
I am primarily self taught believing the best way to learn is to go out and click the shutter. I have spent hundreds and hundreds of hours reading books on photography, watching videos, subscribing to other photographers who offer content on the internet. I bring to our time together, a large amount of practical life experience, coupled with a deep desire to assist people who want to become better photographers. I stand to gain as much from you as you will from me. Together we can make this a great experience. A lot of todays great photographers have not gone through formal training. They have followed their passion and worked very hard to obtain their results.
