PhD graduate gives biology, anatomy and physiology lessons to high school and Uni students

Methodology

Passionate and respectful teacher for students that need a helping hand in understanding the basics in biology, statistics, anatomy and physiology and neurosciences. I adopt an inquiry and structured approach; firstly we will work together to find out exactly the areas of concern, then together we will structure the goals of the lesson. I use a range of teaching aids including online resources to impart my knowledge. My instruction is more suited to high school and university students

Background

I have a passion for both teaching and research and have extensive experience (10 years) in communicating science to a broad range of audiences using both on-line and face-to-face teaching techniques. I have taught in the capacity of lead Tutor and demonstrator at Griffith University and QUT. I'm currently teaching at University of Southern Queensland. In addition to teaching, I have been highly productive and made significant contributions to the area of neuroscience and cancer research. As a postdoctoral researcher I have supervised 2 undergraduate and 3 postgraduate students, 4 of these to completion. To-date all of my students have successfully attained their associated degrees and/or published in high ranking journals.
