I am working as a professional artist and my work has been collected by the Art Gallery of Western Australia. I have over seven years’ experience as a sessional academic, tutoring fine arts undergraduate students at various universities, both online and on campus. I am regarded as a passionate and motivated tutor; this has been reflected through the recognition of my work as an online and on campus educator by outstanding student satisfaction and teacher evaluation ratings. I hold a PhD in Fine Arts and have tutored extensively in the humanities including art practice, art theory, sociology, philosophy, cultural studies and gender studies.
My expertise as an online tutor means I have the discipline to maintain flexible hours that meet student’s needs. I work with students based around the world, who have a range of different cultural backgrounds.
My lessons are informal and it is important that I get to know students on a personal level, to gauge their interests, expectations of their work and how we structure our time together. I believe that strong communication is the key to successful sessions as not all students learn and work in the same way and I strive to tailor my teaching methods to suit the needs of each individual student.
I am a practising artist and academic and hold a Doctoral degree in fine arts. My work has been collected by the Art Gallery of Western Australia and I have exhibited work and participated in presentations on her practice both nationally and internationally. Recently, I have exhibited my work at the festivals Art Not Apart, Canberra (2020), Feminist Art Collective, Feminist Art Festival, Toronto (2020), Faux Mo as part of Mona Foma, Launceston (2020) and at galleries including Cool Change Contemporary, Perth (2019) and Sawtooth ARI Gallery, Launceston (2019).
I value my tutoring skills as representing my best efforts to maintain the highest standard of education for students. I enjoy supporting student skills, recognising and offering solutions through research and creative practice to any course work or research issues they may have.
