As music is such a subjective and creative medium I will work with you to help you turn your ideas into music!
My Name is Harry Scott and I am a passionate Composer, Producer, Sound Designer and Audio Engineer. I have been
immersed in the music since I was a child. My mother was a singer and my father a musician so I was taught from a
young age, a deep understanding of tones, melodies and musical structure.
After playing many instruments as a child I started DJ’ing in high School. It was then that I fell in love with sound design
and music production. I went on to get a traineeship as an Audio Visual Technician at a company called ‘Austage’ when
leaving school. I worked there for 2 years and then started a degree in Audio Engineering at JMC Academy.
After I finished my Bachelors degree I travelled to Bangkok, Thailand and became a resident DJ at a famous club called
‘Route 66’ in the RCA district. I would spend my days making music and my nights playing my new tracks to a vibrant
and eclectic dance floor of Bangkok A-listers.
I moved back to Sydney in order to concentrate on my composition and started doing some live sound gigs and
bartending to compensate my studio time. Within a few years I become Head Engineer and then Production Manager of
a 700pax venue in Bondi Junction. At this time, I was simultaneously doing some composition for a company called
In 2015, I decided to move to New York city. It had always been a dream of mine and I knew I could learn a lot in the
music and design industry over there. I flew over on a tourist visa and within two months I had three offers from music
venues to sponsor me as a Audio Engineer.
Whilst in NYC I met an abundance of top engineers, sound designers, musicians and producers all of which were
driven on a level that I had never experienced before. I learnt how to be highly productive but still not be
overwhelmed, I came to understand sound from a whole different perspective. And multiple perspectives.
As my recording and engineering career grew I got offered some major jobs including being a resident at one of the
top jazz clubs in the world ‘The Blue Note’ In West Village. They then went on to offer me the role of Production
Manager/ Head Engineer another on of their venues ‘Subrosa’.
I also got the privilege to work on a feature film called ‘The Big Sick’ as a sound tech and managed to make a lot of
great contacts in the film industry.
I have gained so much valuable knowledge from my time in New York and doing a broad range of production,
recording and engineering jobs. I have now moved back to Sydney to pursue a creative role in design and
I can be a valuable asset to your team because not only have I studied the art of music and sound design both in my
own time and at college but I have deep experience in dealing with clients and managing time, equipment and work
I am highly technically savvy and extremely driven to meet goals. I understand that most my professional experience is
in live production but this was only to free myself up to be able to practice my craft as a creator.
