I place most of my emphasis on being comfortable in doing what it is you want at the piano, and mastering the essentials (such as reading music) to make the rest of the journey easier. If you're a child who is new to piano and can't read music for instance, I might focus on using some other physical activities and games to teach them about how rhythm works or what key is which before applying that to the piano.
My name is Jonah Patuto and I am currently in my 2nd year of tertiary studies in classical piano performance at QCGU, under the tutelage of concert pianist Natasha Vlassenko. I am a Licentiate level pianist and have a lot of experience participating in local concerts and competitions. I've also taken a course in Pedagogy to ensure I am always becoming a better teacher, and also have training within the Taubman approach for pianists which ensures that students are always playing with comfort and ease.
