The way I approach a topic depends on the individual and their learning style. For example, if a Year 11 Legal Studies student was a primarily visual learner, I would set out the ISAAC method using a flow chart and different coloured pens. I am happy to vary the structure of the tutorial depending on what the student needs. I would be happy to go through the student's homework or provide some additional activities for areas that they are having trouble understanding.
I am a fourth year Law/Science student at QUT. My tutoring experience mostly occurred through babysitting jobs where I helped the kids with their homework. I found it very rewarding when they were able to understand a topic due to my help, and so I wish to do the same for more students. I also often assist younger students in my degree when they are having trouble understanding different topics. I do this by sitting down with them and going through their tutorial questions or telling them tips that I have picked up during my degree.
