My teaching methodology is not only about reading texts and answering questions. I believe that it takes real life scenarios and visual learning to be added towards my teaching methods. For example, we may read a text and correct the grammar in a 'written' format, however we can also discuss ways of how to use this written language into everyday spoken language and what vocabulary may be appropriate to use in conversations. Often there is a gap between what we read on paper and how we speak or approach conversations, and it is necessary to target both aspects to improve English competency overall.
I am currently a second year Medical Student at Oceania University of Medicine, and I have previously graduated from a Bachelor of Health Sciences degree (Hons.) from the University of Auckland in New Zealand, and Monash University in Melbourne. English is my native language, however, I am bilingual and can speak Bengali as well. I am also a disability support worker and continue to contribute to the multicultural youth advocacy space outside of my studies.
Travel charge may differ depending on the distance to meet with student. If there is a cancellation, at least 24 hour notice would be the best.
I am very understanding and know there are many circumstances in terms of money and work/life balance that can be affected during student life. I do not want the student to hesitate to talk to me about other arrangements that are better suited to them (e.g. change of times/locations).
