My teaching method involves use of short tests structured by myself from the topics the student is learning to establish problems areas. Once the problem areas have been identified, each topic would be dissected into different parts and with the aid of visuals such as study maps and videos, I will explain the different aspects and try to find inter-relations between topics.
I am a first year medical school student. I have given tutoring lessons on a small scale to 3 people and they have had improvement in understanding and better grades than they had. I have been learning Biology for 5 years.

Skills and Qualities:
A self-driven, diligent 18 year old student with a great passion for science. I have recently completed an International Baccalaureate where I focussed on the science subjects (Biology and Chemistry), among others. I also studied the theory of knowledge (TOK); an evaluation of different subjects to broaden my critical reading and analytical skills. For my Biology based research project I investigated the extent to which nitrogen composition limits the growth of scenedesmus algae compared to carbon dioxide. I am passionate about medical studies and the opportunity this presents to directly impact on the lives of individuals and communities are large.

Very knowledgeable and great at breaking down and communicating complex concepts, particularly in sciences and mathematics. Soft spoken, respectable and truly interested in her students - Miriam is very encouraging and full of insights.
Out of all my years as a student, I have had many tutors, however, I haven’t had a classmate who was willing to help me/tutor me in my random times of need. I haven’t met anyone who is as patient and very understanding as Miriam. She has various methods of teaching of which involves adapting to a students way of learning. She is eager to help others and she also gives space to the students for them to understand what is being taught. She is very keen on creating a safe space in which each individual can ask questions as well and share their thoughts and problems. She, herself is always doing more than is expected of her in order to not only improve herself but also for helping others who might be curious. She is a very trustworthy, patient, understanding and intellectual person.
