My teaching style is to encourage students to comprehend music as a whole, away from simply playing as written. I have experience in playing piano, guitar, bass and saxophone, both individually and as a group, immersing in an array of genres such as but not limited to pop, jazz, rock and funk. Furthermore, I’ve had experience in song writing, instrumental performance, music theory, recording and production, therefore I would love to share broader view of music, such as feeling, dynamic, grooving, tone, how melody works, how chord progression differs, composition of a song, different types of performance etc. My motto in becoming a good musician is to achieve sensitivity to music. However, I am happy to adapt to the student’s needs and wants in perusing a musical passion!
I have grown up in a musical environment
I started piano when I was young and passed 7th grade of ABRSM
Played in an orchestra as a saxophone player for several years
Started a original band as a bass player and won several awards in Taiwan
played jazz piano for two years
Those experiences have made me more comprehensive as a musician
I have taught two students in the past. However, I taught them not only playing music but a broader idea in music included theory, song writing, being sensitive to sounds, and music around us etc. I have kept their passion to music for years in order for them to appreciating music, applying in future life, or even start a new instrument some day.
