About the lesson

I will build from simple, common words to useful sentences and dialogues with language you can use in different contexts. I use pictures, video clips and real Thai materials as well as conversation, explanations and practice. I am patient and encouraging, with a good sense of humour.

If you want to read or write, we will start with letters and simple words, using some real life materials you would actually want to read, as well as other simple exercises. Once you get used to the alphabet and rules you can read almost anything!

About Steve

Born in Thailand to British parents, I spoke Thai outside the home in my pre-school years, then went to English-speaking schools where I forgot most of it, then after only holiday visits for many years I returned after university to become fluent and literate in Thai as an adult.

I have worked as a Thai-English interpreter on numerous occasions in Thailand and the UK. I also have transferable skills from being qualified and experienced as a tutor of English for speakers of other languages (including Thai people) for many years now, and from teaching other languages.
