My teaching method is student-oriented. I focus on what helps the specific child or children I am working with-- despite how unconventional that might appear from the outside looking in. I believe everyone has an individual learning style, and possesses the ability to learn. Therefore lessons vary depending on the individual I work with containing various games, work sheets, instruction, activities, etc.
I am an Occupational Therapy student from the US majoring in Psychology and English at James Cook University. I grew up in the state of Michigan dancing, running, playing, exploring, learning, and loving. I have been giving lessons for five years now as well as helping children through various types of therapies. I particularly have a heart for working with children who have special needs.
I am more than happy to negotiate rates-- I genuinely want students to do well and excel in their subjects, so if payment becomes an issue, I can definitely work something out. It is more important to me that a student feels confident in school than I get paid a certain amount.
I am currently studying to become an Occupational Therapist, so I very much enjoy working with all different types of personalities. I have been involved in swimming, running, and horseback riding therapy for children for several years now. Additionally I have been working with students individually since 2014 to help them with math, reading, science, and social studies lessons. I student taught for a year at a special day school for students diagnosed with emotional impairments, and I have been volunteering in a local hospital since 2012.
