My teaching style is very much student-focused, and I make sure to adapt my explanations and approaches according to what my students respond to best so that they can get the most out of the tutoring sessions. I understand that every student has a unique learning style, and I aim to compliment that as much as possible. I intend on structuring my classes with a summary of the topics covered in the previous week of school to identify any specific difficulties the student faces in that particular area, including any questions encountered in class, and targeting them first. I will then give questions related to the topic for my student to work through independently and then we will go through the solutions to these problems afterward to consolidate the understanding of the topic. Having studied advanced maths in high-school and continued to study maths in university, I am very experienced at approaching complicated problem-solving techniques, and I can help students with techniques to make these more difficult questions less intimidating.
I am a second year university student, and while this may be my first formal tutoring experience, throughout school and my first year in university I have tutored my peers in maths and have absolutely loved the experience of helping them understand a topic they have had difficulties with, or suggesting different techniques to approaching solving problems.
