As a doctoral candidate, I am regularly required to communicate my research to a wide range of audiences, meaning I have honed my skills in scientific communication to both specialised and non-specialised audiences. I have also adapted this skill into my teaching methodology allowing me to simplify concepts for better understanding and continued learning. I don't believe that memorising content is beneficial to any students that I teach, instead I try to break down concepts so they can reach the answers by themselves.
I am a biomedical scientist completing my doctoral candidature in Biomedical science. I have had teaching positions at the University of Technology Sydney in a range of 1st-3rd year subjects within the life science faculty. Classes range from 15-60 students so I am used to teaching in a group environment, but I also have some experience with 1 on 1 tutoring also.
