My teaching method is a mix between asking the big questions to further develop thoughts and being able to then relate these to modern day context which further helps students to understand. I understand that everyone learns differently and I am more then willing to change the way I present the lesson/information to suit the needs of the learner.
My classes follow the structure of a general brainstorming discussion to understand key interests and pre developed ideas, followed by a powerpoint which will either further develop the pre-existing ideas and hopefully bring new information to the table. I will then go through a few practice questions with the student, before giving them a go individual. Feedback will then be given in a timely manner.
I believe that a student learns best when it is something they are either interested in or can relate to, so I will attempt to make every lesson relatable to the individual needs so that the student can get optimal results from their time.
I am a current VCE student who aspires to be both a primary and secondary teacher. I am confident in many humanities subjects including history, geography, outdoor education and sociology. I have a great reference from a teacher who supervised me on work experience. I have also volunteered my time at another primary school to get more experience in this environment. I coach year 7/8 netball and have done so for the past 3 years. I am also unit chair for my local venturer unit which is part of the scout association.
