I like to communicate with the student and parent/s upfront about their goals, and work with the student to achieve them. I also think it is important to track progress and provide structure to lessons so the student is focused and is aware of what areas they need to practise. I have a friendly approach and am empathetic and patient with students as they work to become a better performer. My aim is to ensure that students develop good habits with their technicality on the violin and that they push themselves to realise their potential as a player.
I am a 19-year old violinist and I have been learning the violin for approximately 12 years, and I am currently undertaking eighth-grade AMEB for violin. I tutor on a regular basis, commonly working with young violinists and beginners to improve their practical and music theory skills.
I have been a member of a local orchestra for eight years so I have great experience with ensemble playing and etiquette. In my Symphony, I was the 2nd violin's leader in 2019, and from 2018-2019 I was the school orchestra's concertmaster/leader of the 1st violins. I had the responsibility of tuning the orchestra, leading string section tutorials and helping tutor the 1st and 2nd violins in preparation for upcoming concerts.
