My classes have a strong yet soft aproach. Hatha means force, and while it tends to be more of a slower flow, the static postures engage a lot of core strength. A regular yoga practice helps to improve strength, posture and flexibility, as well as reducing anxiety and stress. Yin involves longer hold postures (2-5 minutes usually), which work on a much deeper level, helping the bones, joints, ligaments and fascia - as well as traditionally being used to unblock stagnant Qi (life-force energy) throughout the body. I also teach meditation, and incorporate a little bit into each class. This has wonderful effects on reducing stress and helping create mindfulness and a strong mind-body connection.
I am a certified yoga instructor and have been teaching for the past few years. Certified in 200hr Hatha yoga and 90hr Yin. I have experience in corporate/workplace settings, studios/gyms, sports teams (incl Aus diving team), as well as private group and one-on-one lessons.
