The way I learn consists of, firstly, reading through the concept/rule/theory and then going through examples. Afterwards, reiterating what the concept/rule/theory was to reassure the student understands completely and thoroughly. I'm willing to bring this way of learning to any student to the table, but of course not everyone acquires new knowledge the same way - so I'm more than willing to adjust to the student's needs.
Whilst face-to-face sessions would be ideal, in these cases I'd prefer a friendly and casual lesson (possibly during over brunch or a smoothie?) than a strict one. I'm also willing to go online. :)
I have no experience in tutoring, officially, but I have been an academic mentor at my university during my degree. As a recent graduate, I know the ups and downs, the struggles and pain a student can go through without academic or study support. I completed a Bachelor of Zoology and I can be as passionate with people as I am with animals. I can provide tutoring support in fields of mathematics and science (specifically chemistry and biology).
